Gary Craig Mittelstadt
1971 – 2019
Gary Craig Mittelstadt, 47 years old, of Winnipeg, Manitoba passed away on September 5, 2019 in St. Boniface Hospital.
Gary was born in St. Boniface Hospital to Hugo and Margaret Mittelstadt on September 14, 1971. He graduated from MBCI in 1991. He attended Red River College. Gary completed King’s Commission and Ironwood, two training courses through Gateway Church. He worked at Kitchen Craft Cabinets for 22 years. Gary enjoyed fishing, spending time with family, serving his church community, tinkering and puttering and his DeSoto. Gary established and led Connect Group, a support group for people struggling with mental health issues. He was a Stephen Minister, connecting one on one with people who were facing personal challenges.
Gary is lovingly remembered by his wife Elizabeth; parents Hugo and Margaret; sisters Monica and Diana (Nathaniel); brother Mark; nephews and nieces RandyMac (Alannah), Megan (Evan), Ethan, Elliot and Ila; mother-in-law Hilary; brother-in-law Victor and nephews Gianfranco, Maximilian and Giuseppe and his dog Schatzie.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Gateway Church community, especially Pastors Ken and Peter, the staff at St. Boniface Cancer Care and to family and friends for their love and support.
Memorial Service 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Gateway Church, 851 Panet Road, Winnipeg, MB with a light reception to follow.
