Edith’s Obituary
Levy, Edith Alice- 92, Lockeport, formerly of East Green Harbour passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 12, 2019 in Surf Lodge Nursing Home, Lockeport. Born in East Green Harbour, she was a daughter of the late Guerdon and Winnifred (Benham) Buchanan. Edith was a loving mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and good friend to many. Edith was a very hard worker having lost her first husband at an early age and was left to bring up her family on her own, it was not easy but through hard work and determination she did a wonderful job. She was an avid knitter, quilter, seamstress and also enjoyed crocheting. She was an excellent baker. Edith enjoyed attending church, was a very thankful person and saw the best in everyone. Edith also took care of foster children. She is survived by her sons , John (Judy); Kirby; Paul(Karen); daughters, Priscilla and Fern; sisters, Sylvia and Eula; many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Jack Coulton and second husband, Benjamin Levy; son, Nathan; daughters, Bride and Christine; brothers, Reg, Arthur, Walter, Nathan, and Eddie; sisters, Beatti, Esther and Elvie; grandchildren, Philip and David Coulton; Amanda and Borden. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Surf Lodge Nursing for the wonderful care given their mother during her residency. No visitation by request. Funeral service will take place on Sunday, September 15th, at 2:00 pm in Harbour Light Pentecostal Church, East Green Harbour with Rev. Ron Coole officiating. Burial in Harbour Light Cemetery.
