Debra Lynn Ray avis de deces

The family of Deb Ray (Morphet) is sad to announce her passing on September 22, 2019.
Debbie was born in Thunder Bay, ON to Norma and Frank Van Norman. She was married to Wayne Koenig and had her two daughters there before heading west to BC in 1980 settling and raising the family in Castlegar.
Debbie worked a variety of jobs and positions throughout her life but had a calling later on her life after she discovered her passion for taking care of the elderly. She went back to school in her early 50’s to become a registered Care Aid and loved every minute of it up until she became ill and retired in 2018.
She was an amazing mom, grandma, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She cherished and loved her family and friends with her whole heart. Aside from her #1 joy of spending time with her family Debbie loved a good book and would read until the sun came up!
She had a very special “man” in her life right up until the end and that was her faithful companion Scamp, her dog was truly a best friend to her.
One of the best highlights of Deb’s life was an Alaskan Cruise in 2017 with her family, her brother and nieces and her daughters. She had always dreamt of a vacation with her two girls and that dream came true!
Debbie was predeceased by her best friend and mother Norma Craig in 2009, her daddy Frank Van Norman in 1953 when she was only 3 months old, her father Frank Morphet in 2016 and numerous aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her daughter Michelle Davis (Clay) of Kelowna, BC, daughter Allison Koenig (Dave) of Trail, BC, grandsons; Bradley, Tyler, Jacob and Nolan, these 4 boys were her pride and joy! Ex-husband Wayne Koenig of Trail, BC who graciously adopted her dog when she no longer could care for him, brother Craig Morphet of Penticton BC, sister Wendy Tatham of Abbotsford, BC, nieces and nephew, Sheril, Ryan, Lindsay, Niki, Cassandra and Alexis, as well as her childhood friends and cousins, Janet Sharon and Penny.
Breathe easy now Mama, in our hearts forever, missed like crazy!
As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital Health Foundation at 1200 Hospital Bench, Trail, BC or online at www.kbrhhealthfoundation.ca as she received stellar loving care from the staff on the 3rd floor for the last 6 weeks of her life.
No service will be held. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Debra Lynn Ray..
