Clarence Ted Byers

Clarence “Ted” Byers, of Hanover, passed away with his family by his side at Hanover and District Hospital on Thursday, September 5, 2019. He was 75.
Born on July 13, 1944 in Owen Sound, Ontario to the late Edgar and Elsie (nee Schlorff) Byers. Known to family and friends as “Ted”, he was employed with Canada Post for over 35 years until his retirement.
Survived by loving wife Diane (nee Raycraft) McNichol-Byers of Hanover. Loved father of Teresa Lonsberry of Hanover, David (Pam) McNichol of Killaloe and Donald (Cathy) McNichol of Emsdale. Special grandfather of Samantha Lonsberry, Corrie Russwurm, Destiny Clark, Vincent Marquandt, Kathryn McNichol, Ayla McNichol, Hayden McNichol, Elliot McNichol, Riley Allen and great grandfather of Aubree Russwurm. Remembered by his siblings Dave Byers, Ross Byers, Rick (Muriel) Byers, Grant Byers, Marilyn (Wayne) Playford, Janet (Wayne) Johnson and Cindy (Frank) Cooper all of Owen Sound. He will be missed by his many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents, first wife Julie Byers, sons Timothy Byers, Dennis McNichol and his sister in law Phyllis.
Visitation at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Sunday, September 8, 2019 from 1:30-4pm with members of the Royal Canadian Legion attending a Memorial Service at 1:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at Mighton Funeral Home on Monday, September 9, 2019 at 11:00 am. Pastor Lyndsay McGregor officiating. Interment in Holy Family Cemetery, Hanover.
Memorial donations to the Hanover & District Hospital Foundation or the Day Away Program were appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
