Obituary for Clare Joseph Meyer
MEYER, Clare Joseph-Of Heidelberg and formerly of St. Clements, passed away at Freeport Hospital on Saturday, August 31, 2019. Son of the late Harry Meyer and Louise Biesinger. Brother of Barbara Hiller, Michael Meyer (Erika), Raymond Meyer (Clair Ann), Patricia Wege (Reinhard) and brother-in-law of Sandra Meyer. Predeceased by his brother Bernard Meyer and brother-in-law James Hiller. Will be missed by his 10 nephews and nieces and 9 great-nephews and nieces. Clare served mass for the late Msgr. Wm. Becker well into his 20’s and worked on the farm all his life. Friends may visit at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 617 King Street N., Waterloo on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers at 8:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Clement Catholic Church, 3619 Lobsinger Line, St. Clements on Friday, September 6, 2019 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in St. Clement Cemetery. Fr. I. Kociak officiating. Donations to St. Clement Building Fund or Carmel of St. Joseph in St. Agatha would be appreciated. Thank you to the PSW’s, friends John Dankowski who took Clare on car trips, Tom Miller who took Clare to appointments and Mass, Steve Rank who visited Clare often and to nephew Randy Meyer who helped Clare in his daily life.
