Anna Marie Zlomanczyk

It is with great sadness that the family of Anna Marie Zlomanczyk age 95, of Richmond, BC announce her passing on August 31, 2019 at the Hilton Villa Care Centre in Surrey, BC. Anna was born on March 1,1924 in Bihale, Poland to John and Mary Sopel.
She was predeceased in 1998 by her husband Stanley of 56 years. Also, her sister Caroline Danesewich and brother Frank Sopel.
At the age of 11 Anna and her family immigrated from Poland to Hubbard, Saskatchewan. She lived there until marrying Stanley Zlomanczyk on February 14, 1942 in Ituna, Saskatchewan moving to BC shortly after.
She will be sadly missed by her three children Antonia Neumann (Wally) of Hope, BC., Phillip Zloman (Denise) of Nanoose Bay, BC, and John Zloman of Mayne Island.
Anna was a grandmother to Stanley (Agatha) and Robert and great-grandmother to Ethan, Liam, Logan, Ashton and Alexis. Survived and greatly missed by her sister Katie Tuchak plus many nieces and nephews.
Anna and Stanley were long-time residents of Richmond for a virtual lifetime, busy raising their three children and exploring retirement in their later years. St. Casimir’s Catholic Church and the Polish community was always an integral part of their social life; beyond the family circle, many cherished friendships thrived. In her later years after Stanley’s passing, while still living in the family home, much appreciated caring neighbors rounded off her social life.
A heartfelt thank-you to the wonderful supportive staff at Hilton Villa Care Centre (Ash neighborhood) for their vigilance and commitment over the many years that mom was in their care.
Details of service to follow.
