Obituary of Alice Elizabeth Polenz
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Betty Polenz (nee Farrow) on September 1, 2019 at the age of 79 years.
Betty will be forever remembered by her husband Wolfgang Polenz; her children Peter Polenz of Dowling, Patricia Simpson (Bradley) of Carleton Place and Barbara Woods (Hugh) of New Liskeard; and her grandchildren Joshua Polenz, Jacob, William & Nicholas Simpson and Marshall & Madison Woods
Betty was predeceased by her parents Pearl (nee Ball) and Alvin Farrow, brothers James and Donald. She will be missed by siblings Jack Farrow of Elk Lake, Nancy (Kent) Bradley of Arnprior, Linda Baker of New Liskeard, Norah Lee Farrow of Ottawa.
Of course, “Aunt Bea” will always be remembered by several of nieces and nephews.
Betty was born to Pearl (nee Ball) and Alvin Farrow on November 10, 1939 in New Liskeard, Ontario. She married Wolfgang Polenz in May 1959, living the majority of her life in the Temiskaming area.
She loved living beside Lake Temiskaming, just watching the water flow by. She was passionate about all her many hobbies and crafts such as drawing, painting, spinning wool, gemology, dollmaking and playing her beloved dulcimer. Amateur herbalist, “rock hound” and genealogy enthusiast, she took great enjoyment in reading and researching all her interests.
Some of her happiest times were spent with children, grandchildren and family, just sharing stories of the past as well as with her beloved cat, Miss Muffin.
A heart felt thanks goes out to her personal caregivers for the wonderful care and comfort given to her over the years.
To our friends and family, we wish to thank you for the expressions of love and support; it is so precious to us at this time, and we will remain eternally grateful.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Perrin Funeral Chapel from 2pm to 4 pm with remembrances 3:30 pm. Internment will be held on Friday, September 6, 2019 at 10am at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Haileybury.
