Albina Marie Comeau

COMEAU, Albina – Age 94, of Comeauville, passed away peacefully in La Villa Acadienne, Meteghan, on Saturday, September 7, 2019 with her children at her side. Born in Lower Saulnierville, she was a daughter of late Arcade & Ernestine (Comeau) Comeau. She is survived by her daughter, Joline (André) Comeau Belliveau, Bangor; sons, Aurèle (Anne) Comeau, Comeauville; Daniel (Myra) Comeau, Saulnierville; grandchildren, Josh Gogan, Jean-Daniel Comeau, Marise-Ann Comeau, Lysane Comeau-Sine, Roberte Saulnier, Jean-Pierre Belliveau and Angèle Belliveau; great-grandchildren, Kallie Sine and Leah Sine. In addition to her parents, Albina was predeceased by her husband, Leonard C. Comeau; son, Eric Comeau; daughter, Paulette Comeau; grandson, Adrian Gogan; sister, Lina (Julius) Comeau; brother, Père Léger Comeau.
In 1967, Albina became a widow and took over the full-time managerial position at Leonard C. Comeau General Store while she continued to lovingly raise her young family. After over 25 years, she passed the operation of the store to her sons. After retirement, she enjoyed keeping active, socializing with family and friends, playing cards, going to various seniors’ activities and church functions.
The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you and appreciation to the staff of La Villa Acadienne, Meteghan.
Cremation has taken place and visitation will be held in Meteghan Funeral Home on Friday, September 20th, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be Saturday at 11 a.m. from Église Sacré Coeur, Saulnierville, with Father Honoré Kouassi officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Church Point.
