Walter Ernest Muth Thursday August 1st 2019

Peacefully at the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Thursday August 1, 2019 at the age of 89 years. Walter Muth of Pembroke is survived by his beloved daughter Katarya Muth of Pembroke and his second wife and later friend, Nita (Kanungnit) Polsri-Muth and many friends here in Pembroke and Thailand. Walter is predeceased by his first wife Claire Tellier and his sister Ellyonore.
Walter was born in Germany on March 8, 1930 to his late parents Phillip Johann and Maria Luise Muth. Walter emigrated to Canada in 1955. After a six months stay in Ottawa, he moved to Pembroke. He was employed as a tool maker at Eddy Match. He then moved to the Superior Electric Company of Pembroke as a tool room foreman and new product designer.
Walter then started in 1966 to work for AECL in Chalk River as a Tool and Die maker and in 1971 as a Research Technician in the special products division where he earned three patents in developing remote tooling for in-reactor use.
Walter was an ardent curler and golfer for 40 years. Later on in life , he developed a strong love for traveling. He traveled all over Europe, South America and Asia.
Respecting Walter’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Interment St. Columba’s Cemetery.
Arrangement entrusted to the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Pembroke.
