It is with great sadness that the family of Walter Alvin Randall, a resident of Parkland Shannex, announce his passing after a brief stay in the hospital on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at the age of 92. Walter was born May 16, 1927 in Upper Gagetown to the late Elijah Bliss Randall and late Sylvia (Chase) Randall.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 15 years, Verley Irene (Kendall) (Pitcher) Randall; two daughters, Barbara Randall (Richard Stinson) of Amherst, NS and Marilyn Brewer (Chester) of Upper Keswick, NB; seven step children, Lorna Pitcher (Steve Lassey) of Ottawa, Linda Huntley (Brian) of Toronto, Tracy Barnes (Randall) of Nesbit,
MS, Janice Pitcher (Tim McCabe) of Ottawa, Robert Pitcher (Susan) of Fredericton, Linda Stewart (Paul) of Fredericton and Valerie Wilkins (Vaughn) of Fredericton; grandchildren, Robin Brewer, Jason Brewer (Sarah) and Justin Brewer (Kayla); step grandchildren, Bennett Huntley, Caleb Barnes, Rowan and Liam McCabe, Ryan Pitcher, Marcie Wall (Patrick), Jeremy Stewart ( Abagail), Vanessa McCullouch (Andrew) and Breanne Blacquier (Jeremy); great grandchildren, Katelyn Brewer and her Mom, Marjorie Barker, Rachel Brewer and her Mom, Angie Roberts, Conner and Cole Brewer; step great grandchildren, Noah and Charlie Wall, Chase and Eva Stewart, Ryan and Heidi McCullough and Owen, Bradley, Sadie and Jake Blacquier; sister, Arvella Currie of Whitecourt, AB; brothers, Charlie Randall (Maxine) of Surrey, BC, and Curtis Randall of 150 Mile House, BC; brothers in law, Walter Kendall (Judy), Eric Despres, Robert Thomas and Irvine Thomas (Faye); many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Jean (Thomas) (Wilson) Randall and his children’s Mom and wife, June
(Holmes) (Randall) (White); sisters, Verna Warman (Ansel), Deltha Meade (Harold), Hattie Cameron (Henry), Elnora Delong (Fred DeLucry), Heloise Randall, Alice Despres and Glenna Currie (Lyle); brothers, Elihu “Buster” Randall (Sadie), Everett Randall (Gertrude) (Florence) Lloyd Randall and Gerald “Joe” Randall (Geraldine); son in law, Alden C. Brewer and many brothers and sisters in law.

Walter last retired from construction work with Charles McFarlane of Charmac Construction. He also worked for Palmer McLellan Shoe Factory for 24 years. He was a volunteer firefighter in Nashwaaksis for 13 years, a member of St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Fredericton and a member of the Elm Tree Squares (square dancing) for 25 years. Walter was a 52 year Lions Club member and received life membership for his many years of service. He loved to travel, hunt, fish, camp, pick berries, make jams and pickles right up to his senior years. He also enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and was an avid gardener. He will always be remembered as a gentle man who loved people.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Monday, August 5, 2019 from 7-9 pm with a Lions Club Tribute Service at 6:30 pm.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 from 10-11 am followed by the Funeral Service at 11 am. Interment will take place at Sunny Bank Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Nashwaaksis Lions Club or the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation.
