It is with great sadness that the family of Robert (Bob) Lavigne, husband of Louise (Brown) announce his passing on August 11, 2019 at the age of 82. Bob was born on March 21, 1937 in Saint John. He was a life long resident of the area with his final residence in Nauwigewauk. His backyard swing was his favourite place.
Bob touched a lot of people who respected and loved him. He loved dancing and going for Chinese food after the dances at the Fairvale Outing Association in earlier years. He enjoyed summer days at the trailer in Cambridge Narrows and meeting new people. He was proud of his wood working projects and made many special pieces for his family. Bob was always kind and willing to help anyone who needed it.
Bob spent most of his life working for Irving Pulp & Paper Ltd., considering himself fortunate to be working there. He always said the smell of the pulp mill was the smell of money in his pocket.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Karen Dunlop (Bill) and Terry Lavigne; step-children: Sandra Kyle, Joe Dykens (Mabel), and Mark Dykens. He also leaves behind several grandchildren: Julia Creighton, Amanda Dallon, Aaron Kyle, Taylor Kyle, Justin Dykens, Michael Dykens, Jeffrey Dunlop and Kelsey Dunlop. Great-grandchildren: Caylie Creighton, Luna Dallon, Noah Cyr and Domenic Dykens.
A family memorial will be held at a later date.
