Obituary for
Regan Rochon
ROCHON, Regan Lionel Joseph “Uncle Buck”
1938-2019
Regan was born May 16 1938 in Gogama to Hermenegilde and Colombe Rochon. Loving father of late Margaret, Wendy Rochon (Carole Mallette) and Wayne Rochon (Nicole Hopson) along with the mother of his children Joan Caron. Cherished grandfather of Scott Rochon. Survived by his siblings Marie-Lou (late Clement) Aubin, Rejeanne (Wayne) Baker, Barbara (Jack) Ingram, late Mercedes, late Yvon (Irene), late Claude (Bonnie), late Ron, late Marie (late Neil) Derkson, late Rita (late Larry) Guindon, late Yollande Seguin/Dube (late Leo), late O’Neil (Anita), late Vivian (late Maurice) Quesnel and late Dan (late Alice Lachance and Mabel Naveau). He will be missed by his special friend Florence Berubé.
In his early years, Bucko was a trapper and a prospector up until he purchased his piece of land where he designed and built his own log house and opened up Uncle Buck trout pond. He persevered in his dreams and it was his biggest accomplishment in life. He gave many children their first opportunity to fish and put a smile on many faces as they reeled their first catch. He was an amazing storyteller and would forever feed the wild animals outside his home. Along with his trout pond, he did some beekeeping. He planted all sorts of wild flowers to keep his bees which are still there today. Uncle buck was a true avid outdoors man, he loved to fish and hunt. He passed on this passion to his children. He was a very kind man and loved children. He was loved and will be dearly missed.
As per his wishes, cremation has taken place. Remembrance donations to Wild at Heart Wildlife refuge Centre would be greatly appreciated. The funeral arrangements are entrusted with the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 150 Balsam St. S. Timmins
A giant pine, magnificent and old,
Stood staunch against the sky and all around
Shed beauty, grace and power. Within its fold
Birds safely reared their young. The velvet ground
Beneath was gentle, and the cooling shade
Gave cheer to passers-by. Its towering arms
A landmark stood, erect and unafraid,
As if to say, “fear naught from life’s alarms.”
It fell one day. Where it had dauntless stood
Was lonliness and void. But men who passed
Paid tribute–said, “To know this life was good.
It left its mark on me. Its work stands fast.”
And so it lives. Such life no bonds can hold–
This giant pine, magnificent and old.
Georgia Harkness.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Regan
