Memorial Donation
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we the family of the late Melinda Bird (nee Warren) announces her passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, NL on Thursday, August 8th, 2019 at the age of 85 years. Born in Fox Island, NL, Melinda was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Ann Warren (nee Rose). She was also predeceased by her husband Francis Ward Bird in 2004; father and mother-in-law Thomas and Jessie Bird; step-mother Minnie Bird; brothers Freeman (Josie) Warren, Ronald Warren, George Warren; sisters Menora (Norman) Shears, Rosanna Warren, Dorothy Warren; brothers-in-law Cyril (Alice) Bird, Lewis (Ada) Bird, Raymond Bird, Harold Turner, Jim Bird, Thomas Bird and sisters-in-law Dora Strickland and Alice Bird.
She leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memories her loving daughters Dora (Guy) Durnford of Paradise, NL, Mary (Murdock) Furey of Reserve Mines, NS, Roberta (Raymond) Young, Joselyn (George) Hardy both of Rose Blanche, NL; son Jason (Kimberly) Bird of Moncton, NB. She also leaves behind nine (9) grandchildren Frank (Kimberly) Scott, Michael (Lisa) young, Fritz (Melanie) Scott, Raylene (Lorenzo) MacDonald, Diane (Dion) Durnford, Robbie (Jaimi) Young, Lorne (Tzu) Durnford, Carter Bird, Matthew Bird, fourteen (14) great-grandchildren; sister Leah Turner of Glace Bay, NL; brother-in-law Walter Strickland of Port aux Basques, NL, Clayton Bird of Rose Blanche, NL; sister-in-law Frances Bird of Fort McMurray, AB plus a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will take place on Friday, August 9th from 2-4 pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. Visitation will continue on Friday, August 9th from 7-9 pm and on Saturday, August 10th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at St. Michael & All Angel’s Anglican Church in Rose Blanche, NL. The funeral service will take place on Sunday, August 11th at 2 pm from St. Michael & All Angels Anglican Church in Rose Blanche officiated by the Rev. Jeffrey Petten. Interment will follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in memory of Melinda was be made to the charity of one’s choice.
