The death of Mary Elizabeth
Powers, 96, of Moncton, occurred on Monday, August 19, 2019. Mary was
the second oldest of seven children and the only daughter of the late
George and Estella (Fowler) DeLong of Penobsquis,
Mary is survived by her son,
Donald, and his wife, Carmel (Power) of Dartmouth, NS; one grandson,
Robb (Mary) Powers of Kingston Peninsula, NB; one granddaughter, Erin
Hyland of Dartmouth; two great grandsons, Zarech Kearney of Kingston
and Xavier Hyland of Dartmouth; and her youngest brother, David
(Marilyn), of Medicine Hat, Alberta.
She enjoyed special
relationships with her nieces and nephews who will all treasure her
memory and their time spent together.
Besides her parents, Mary was
predeceased by her husband, Hank in 1996, and by her brothers Bill
(Red Deer, AB), Don (Penobsquis, NB), Gordon (Sus, NB), Myles (St.
Stephen, NB), and John (Halifax, NS).
Family will receive visitors
at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on
Thursday August 29th from 7:00
– 9:00 pm. A memorial service will be held at Fergusons
Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, August 30,
2019 at 10:30am. Reception in the Funeral Home
Reception Centre following the service. A graveside service to be held
in Shannon Cemetery, Shannon, NB, later in the
