Margaret Kelly (nee Lawson)
Margaret Kelly, 83, of Moncton
passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at The Moncton
Hospital after being diagnosed with cancer. She was born in 1936 in
Moncton to John and Emma (Mann) Lawson.
Margaret was a homemaker for
most of her life with active involvement in the community including
home and school associations, block parents, the allergy association,
among others. She greatly enjoyed meeting and staying in touch with
people, including children, from being a playground leader in her
youth, to her broader family and in various roles at church. Margaret
attended various churches over the years, St. John’s United,
Wesley United, St. Andrew’s Presbyterian and Highfield
Baptist. She was a woman of strong faith who actively drew her
strength from God who she unwaveringly trusted through her final
illness. She always had her eye out for where help could be offered
and was known for her welcoming, encouraging and generous
spirit.
Left with precious memories
are her husband, Myron Kelly; her son, Owen and her two daughters,
Ellen and Joy, and extended family members. In addition to her
parents, she was predeceased by her two brothers, David and Bill
Lawson.
A Service to celebrate
Margaret’s life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home
Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Monday, August 19,
2019 at 11:00 am, with Pastor Gary Barr officiating. A Reception will
follow the service. A private interment will take place at the Birch
Hill Cemetery, Berry Mills.
The family would like to
express its heartfelt appreciation for the dedicated and caring staff
at the Moncton Hospital, especially Units 2600 and 3600 and to Dr.
Olatunde, her trusted family doctor, for their kindness and compassion
to Margaret and the family.
In Memory of Margaret,
donations may be made to Crandall University or Friends of The Moncton
