La célébration de
Kenji Nanba
12 octobre 1928 –
2 août 2019
It is with extreme heavy hearts and sadness that the family of Kenji “Ken” Nanba announce his sudden and unexpected passing on Friday, August 2, 2019 at the Hamilton’s Juravinski Hospital. Ken’s abrupt passing has left his wife of 58 years Connie (Kosugi), and daughters Debbie and Janice completely heart broken.
Ken was born in Vancouver, British Columbia on October 12, 1928 to Takeo and Fusako (both predeceased). He was the eldest of four children, Toyo (predeceased), Kinji and Tosh. The family lived in Woodfibre, BC., they later moved to Prudhommes’s Landing, Ontario before finally settling into Hamilton.
As a young man, Ken had worked at Hendershot Paper Products Ltd. in Burlington. After work he would help his father build the new house for his parents and siblings. The two were able to share their favourite hobby of wood working together. With a strong sense of family, Ken later went into business with his father and brother Kinji to open “General Service Garage”. It was open for 33 years. After retiring from the family business, Ken also worked for Hamilton Auto Parts, Gemini Auto Inc and other auto shops.
This strong sense of family continued on when he got married and had two daughters. He enjoyed many family road trips and activities throughout the years.
Although he had many health issues through the expertise of his doctors he was able to spend many happy years with his wife and daughters. The family are grateful to Dr. V. Chu, Dr. J. Pinthus, Dr. K. Khan, Dr. M. Sullivan, and Dr. M. Campos.
The family would like to thank the kindness and empathy shown by the nurses on B3 in caring for their husband/father.
Visitation at Bay Gardens Funeral Home “William J. Markey Chapel”, 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON (905.574.0405) on Friday, August 9, 2019 from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral service in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Eastlawn Cemetery, Hamilton.
