Kathleen “Kate” Gilbert
Gilbert, Kathleen Marjorie (nee Payette):
After a lengthy battle with ovarian cancer, passed away peacefully at Innisfree House on August 25, 2019 surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of Doug and loving mother of Ken and his wife Kelly, and grandchildren Hannah, Sophie and Abbey. Kate will be dearly missed by her siblings Lynne (Ross), Shirley (Henry), Rich (Kathy), Tom (Julie), Marianne (Brian), and Jacquie (Mark), and her many nieces and nephews.
Kate was a long-time teacher with the Waterloo Catholic District School Board, an avid golfer and a member of many groups including Probus Club, RWTO, CWL and book club.
Kate’s family will receive relatives and friends from 3:00 – 3:45 p.m. on Friday, August 30, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A celebration of Kate’s life will take place in the chapel at 4:00 p.m.
A reception to follow the service open to friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Innisfree House would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
