Honor Landry (nee Hirschfeld) April 6, 1923 – August 16, 2019
After 96 wonderful years, this extraordinary person has left the physical confines of this earth. She is predeceased by her mother Marie (Rhea) Hirschfeld (nee Power), her father Julius Hirschfeld, brothers, William Hirschfeld (Marcella) and Albert Hirschfeld (Helen).
She is lovingly remembered by those she leaves behind. Her travelling soulmate and life partner of 73 years, Everest Landry. Her sister, Helen Dobson (Donald deceased), her five children; Warren (Aine), Louise Stilwell (Richard), Susan Rigby (Ian deceased), Annemarie (Jacques), Jeffrey (Karen) who had the exceptional fortune to have a mother and father who provided a safe, nurturing environment full of unconditional love that enables them to live life on their own terms. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren Peter, Christopher, Shaun, Andrew, Christine, Tanya, Alexander, Raechel, and Genevieve and great-grandchildren who carry warm memories her presence in their lives. Honor was a great listener, who provided a different, unique and always honest perspective on life’s challenges and daily situations. We will miss her and her wisdom.
The family would like to acknowledge Dr. Shah and the nursing staff at Royal Victoria Hospital whose respectful care gave comfort to our mother and eased her passing. Their gentle kindness gives us some solace in our grief.
