Harris Margerson Weatherbee
Harris Margerson Weatherbee – age 88, of Wolfville, passed
away on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 in the Valley Regional Hospital,
Kentville. Born in Wolfville, he was the son of the late Clifford and
Maude (Barkhouse) Weatherbee, step-son of the late Evelyn May
“Dolly” (Shay) Weatherbee. Harris served with the
Royal Canadian Artillery, following his time with the Army, he worked
in retail, managing Stedman’s, Dolphens, Bargain
Harold’s, V & S stores throughout Nova Scotia, New
Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Ontario. He was a member
of the Royal Canadian Legion – Wolfville Branch No. 74. Harris was a
family man and his family always came first. He will be
sadly missed by his wife of 64 years, Phyllis (Irwin); his children,
Clifford (Darlene), Miramichi, NB; Blair (Linda), New Minas; Brenda
(Sandy) MacPherson, Bathurst, NB; Alan (Wanda), Granville Ferry,
Annapolis County; Darrell (Betty Anne), Glenwood, NB; 12
grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Gladys Gertridge,
Gaspereau; nieces, nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by
a sister, Phyllis Crowell and brothers-in-law; Edward Crowell and Ross
Gertridge. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, August 23,
2019, in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service
will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 24, 2019 in St.
John’s Anglican Church, Wolfville, Reverend Shirley Cole
officiating. Burial will take place in the Willowbank Cemetery,
Wolfville. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer
Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family
Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
