GORDON RALPH CONNOR
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear father just 2 weeks past his 99th birthday. He was born in Preston, Ontario on August 14,1920. Dad joined the airforce at 19 after he obtained his pilots license and served his country during the Second World War .
After the war he met the love of his life, our mother Shirley Duncan of Portage la Prairie. They married in 1951 and located in Winnipeg where they raised their family Susan, Cameron (Sherilyn), Gordon, Marshall (Janeth). He also had 9 grandchildren and 4 great- grandchildren.
Dad worked for Transport Canada until his retirement in 1978. He spent many of his years at the family cottage at Falcon Lake where he loved entertaining and hosting block parties .
He never really slowed down until much later in life. There was always something that needed doing like yard work or gardening. Dad also loved watching sports . If the game had a ball in it he was all in . He could often be heard yelling at the TV when the Blue Jays weren’t playing well.
There will be no formal service and a private family function will follow in his memory. Mizpah
