He will also be remembered by his grandchildren: Lori (Byron), Jennifer (Jamie), Nicole (Michael), Allison (Vince), Briana (Mark) and Cameron (Juli), and great-grandchildren: Zachary, Connor, Taizsia, Hannah, Lilly, and Meleigha, as well as many extended family members and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife of 72 years, Christine and his grandson Christopher, as well as his parents George and Clara Ehnes and all his siblings.
Garbiel was born in Faith, Alberta. He married Christine Harty in 1939 and they farmed in the Faith area until moving to Fort Kent in 1953. They retired in St. Albert in 1995. He had a strong faith, work ethic and determination. He loved his family and always had time for others, volunteering, as well as being a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. Gabriel enjoyed playing cards and riding his scooter around St. Albert.
We are grateful to the wonderful staff at the Citadel Mews West for making Dad feel at home for the nine years that he lived there.
