On July 29th, Ernest Schlender passed away peacefully at the age of 98 with his grandson Jonathan by his side. He leaves his loving family; his wife Edith of over 70 years, his daughter Donna, his grandson Jonathan (Krista), as well as his great granddaughter Caila. He also leaves his brother Vern (Kay), and numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his three sisters and four brothers.
He was a very loving and kind man. He was a self taught carpenter, and automotive mechanic by trade. He had a wonderful creative streak, and was able to build almost anything he needed or wanted to. He was very generous in helping his family and others.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Sturgeon Hospital in St Albert, as well as the staff at Edmonton General Hospital, for their care and kindness.
