Elizabeth’s Obituary
EGERTON – Elizabeth Violet “Beth” MacDougall, 57, passed away Friday, August 23, 2019 peacefully at home surrounded by her family.
Born on June 28, 1962 in Moncton, N.B., she was a daughter of Gisele Catherine (Violette) Savoy and the late Donald James Savoy. Beth was raised in Miramichi, N.B. and spent most of her adult years in Pictou County. She possessed a gentle, kind and thoughtful nature, never forgetting the smallest details, ensuring everyone was cared for. Beth worked hard to provide for her family, never complaining, even in the most challenging phases of her journey. She dearly loved her little grandchildren, Nora, Lucca, Marlowe, Arianna and Leni. Beth was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be forever missed.
Surviving besides her mother are husband, Joe MacDougall; sons, Jonathan Hatchard, River John; Gregory Hatchard, Coalburn; step-daughter, Emily (Dustin) Ceretti, Sudbury, Ont.; step-sons, Patrick (Amanda) MacDougall, Antigonish; Adam (Janelle Fraser) MacDougall, Fredericton, N.B.; step-grandchildren, Nora, Lucca and, Marlowe Ceretti; Arianna and Leni MacDougall; siblings, Donna (Brent) McGee, Paula (Gordon) Drillen and Greg (Paula Keating) Savoy, all of Miramichi; mother-in-law, Patricia MacDougall, Antigonish; many nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, August 26th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 27th in St. Margaret of Scotland Roman Catholic Church, Arisaig with Father Colin F. MacKinnon presiding. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Beth’s family wishes to thank the Aberdeen Palliative Care team and Victorian Order of Nurses staff and Dr. Brad MacDougall, Dr. Nathan Lamond and Dr. Matthew Rigby for the care she received. A special thanks to our amazing nurse and friend Rachel MacDonald, for everything she has done for all of us on this difficult journey.
