Obituary for
David James Steele
With a staggering amount of sadness and grief, we are left with cherished memories of Dave’s warm and embracing care. Beloved husband and solid best friend of Susan. An amazing father to Elliot and Sarah. A new father-in-law to Elaine, who he cared for deeply. A wonderful friend to Devin, Kyle, Steve and Nate. Dave will be remembered as a positive influence, and as a friend who gave constant support. Predeceased by his beautiful daughter Sarah. Dave excelled in a dynamic career as Recreation Director of City of Ottawa. City of Langley, B.C. and City of Oshawa. Dave was interested in all people, an avid listener, with a captivating sense of humour. Dave’s kindness and generosity shone through his outlook regarding the mysteries of Life. Dave enjoyed mystery books, architectural design and colour, music, CBC, films, the Sens, Red Blacks and walking the Canal and neighbourhood. Dave would be pleased to know that his extended family, O’Connor – Wilkinson – Hamilton, are providing much needed support, with a shout out to the Notre Dame Gang. You will be remembered forever.
A Celebration of Dave’s Life will take place on Sunday, August 25th at 2 p.m. in Scotton Hall, Glebe Community Center, 175 Third Avenue, Ottawa.
