David Brearley
1943 – 2019
Surrounded by his loving family, David Brearley passed away August 29, 2019. Beloved husband of Marion (Clark). David was predeceased by his parents Clare and Evelyn, and his sister Beth. A caring and supportive father, David is survived by his children Fiona (Rob), Margo (Al) and Colin (Daniella). He was a cherished grandfather to Sarah, Jack, Cameron, William, Robyn and Kade. He will also be remembered by his brother-in-law Stuart, niece Heather (Roger), nephew Jonathan (Darlene), and their children Theo, Lucy, Glynis and Scarlet. David will be mourned by family in Canada and in Scotland. Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O’Connor) on Friday, September 6 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Service of Remembrance will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 82 Kent Street, Ottawa on Saturday, September 7 at 11 a.m., with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Meals on Wheels or the Canadian Cancer Society. David’s song may now be silent, but his voice will never be forgotten.
