Obituary for
Carol Wicks (Shute)
WICKS (Shute), Carol
Passed away peacefully in Vimy Court on August 18, 2019 in Truro, NS at the age of 68 after a valiant battle with a long-term illness. Carol was diagnosed with frontal lobe dementia in 2009 and she remained a brave, iron-willed woman even throughout her final days.
Carol was born to parents Ralph and Mary Shute on March 12, 1951 in Halifax, NS. She was blessed with a large and loving family and grew up as the fifth eldest of eleven children. Carol is survived by her ten siblings Patsy, Ralph, Tom, Doreen, Jean, Linda, Billy, Wally, George, and Ron; her husband, Eric Wicks; and her two daughters, Ericka and Ashley. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Carol graduated from J.L. Ilsley High School in Spryfield, NS. She married Eric Wicks on August 20, 1979. After moving to Truro, NS the couple welcomed two children into their home. Her family remembers her as being energetic, fun loving, caring, generous and devoted. Carol always had a smile on her face and brought joy and laughter to those around her. She loved sunny days, photography, dancing, and music with Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson being two of her favorites.
The family would especially like to thank the staff at Vimy Court for their constant, attentive treatment and loving care.
Carol requested to be cremated. A celebration of life will take place this Thursday, August 22nd, 2019 at 6:00pm at the Truro Lions Club, 1100 Prince St, Truro, NS. All are welcome to attend.
