It is with heavy hearts that the family of Allison F. Staples announces his passing on August 2, 2019 at his home. Born on September 28, 1936, in Sisson Settlement, a farming community just outside of Burtts Corner, New Brunswick, he was the eldest son of Anson Brewer Staples and Teresa Pauline (Crouse) Staples. In 1942 he began his long connection with New Brunswick education by entering Grade One at the small one room schoolhouse in Sisson Settlement. He would be the only student in his grade for the next eighty years, His first teacher was Marjorie Estey. His Grade Eight teacher was Bernice Foster, whom he always credited with preparing him for High School. His high school for the first year (1950-1951), was located at the Forester’s Hall in Burtts Corner. By the end of Grade Ten it would be the brand new Keswick Valley Memorial High School from which he would graduate in June of 1954, as a member of the very first graduating class of KVMHS.
Allison graduated from the New Brunswick Teachers College, and from the University of New Brunswick. He taught at Centreville Intermediate School, The Allen School, Harold Peterson Jr. High school. He taught at Keswick Valley Memorial School, from 1969 until his retirement in 1991.
In his retirement, he enjoyed studying and teaching the Bible; Spending time with his grandchildren, and great grandchildren; volunteering on a number of local committees; Painting; and spending time with his wife, Lillian. In 2017, he was the Honorary Parade Marshall for Keswick Valley Summerfest, for his many decades of service to the community.
Allison is survived by his loving wife of sixty three years, Lillian (Conley) Staples, sons A. Geoffrey Staples (Rose), Rodney T. Staples and daughter, Karen L. Williams (Mark); grandsons Nathan (Katrina), Jordan (Kayla) and Logan Staples. granddaughters, Amanda Collicott (Eric), Leah Merrill (Phillip) and Paige Staples. Ten great grandchildren,
Caleb, Kyle and Colin Staples; Isabelle and Benjamin Merrill and Winrey, William, Jack, and twins, Archer and Finn Staples; Brothers Winston (Donna) and Lowell (Shirley), sisters-in-law, Ida Pugh and Audrey Pugh; brother-in-law, Medford E. (Sonny) Conley (Elaine), and Gwen Prime (mother of Logan and Paige, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, Allison is predeceased by his friend of many years, Jerry Hawkes; brothers-in-law, Joseph K Pugh, and Cedric Armand Pugh.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Achla Pond, Dr. Yuri Luntao, Dr. Gordon MacDonald, the nurses from Extra Mural. We would like to thank, Glen Jackson and the pharmacy staff of Shoppers Drug Mart, Main Street, Fredericton.

Visitation will be held at the Burtts Corner Christian Church, 1021 Route 104 Burtts Corner, on Wednesday, August 7th 2019 from 6-8 pm. A Funeral service will be held at the Burtts Corner Christian Church on Thursday, August 8th at 2 pm,
officiated by Pastor Dan Foreman, assisted by Pastor Stephen Hoyt.
Interment will be held at the Burtts Corner Community Cemetery, immediately following the service.
A reception will be held at the Burtts Corner Baptist Church, 1034 Route 104 Burtts Corner, following the burial.
Donations can be made to the Burtts Corner Christian Church, the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Association, the New Brunswick Lung Association, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
