William Vasilios Loupos 1937 2019

Obituary for
William (Vasilios) Loupos
Loupos, Vasilios (William/Bill)
Born in Athens, Greece on January 13, 1937, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 21, 2019 at the age of 82 at Grand River Hospital. Bill immigrated to Canada on July 26, 1961 and was joined by Sofia in 1963. Survived by his beloved wife Sofia of 55 years, daughters Maria (Alex), Angela (Kevin), and Irene (Darren). Devoted Papou to Liam, Benjamin, Jordan, Adam, and Elizabeth. Predeceased by his parents Angelo and Maria Loupos, and sisters Dina, Eleni, and Venetia all of Greece. Bill was a long-time member of Sts. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church and a member of the church council. He will be remembered for many things: his love of dancing, laughter, unique sense of humour, devotion to family, and his box of doughnuts that always accompanied visits – much to the delight of the grandkids. Vasili, Dad, Papou, you devoted your life to caring for us, now it’s your time to rest.
Bill’s family will receive relatives and friends from 6-9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Trisagion prayers 7 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral Service at Sts. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 527 Bridgeport Road, on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at 11 a.m. Interment Parkview Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Sts. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
