Stella Anne Loewen
Stella Anne Loewen resident of Grande Prairie, formally of Yahk, B.C., passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at the QEII Hospital, at the age of 72 years.
Stella was born October 14, 1946 and raised in the Glen Leslie District. She lived and worked in the Grande Prairie area for many years before retiring and moving to BC.
She enjoyed quilting, painting, and gardening, especially flowers. After moving to the Creston and Yahk, BC area, she enjoyed and spent many hours exploring the back country and mountains with her husband Cliff.
She will be missed by her daughter Sandra Schenk; step-children: Randy (Lois) Loewen, Dorothy (Al) Gonci, Dale (Judy) Loewen, Kathy Monnette, and Brent (Leanne) Loewen; sister in-law Lois Nellis; brother in-law Ken Biron; grandsons Mitch Schenk and Ross Schenk; as well as numerous step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by her husband Cliff Loewen, daughter Brenda, mother Betty Nellis, father Bill Nellis, brother Frank, and sister Enid.
In keeping with Stella’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
Memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society (200, 325 Manning Road NE, Calgary, AB, T2E 2P5).
