Ruth Frances Jacques, is now reunited with her love of 56 years, the late Douglas Lloyd (2012), in the Kingdom of Heaven. The devoted mother of Drew (Lisa), David Alexander (Jackie) and Heather Anne (Forrest) will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Lucas, Sierra, Jocelyn, Alexander and Larahanne.
Born on September 26, 1931, Ruth was the eighth of ten siblings and always had a thirst for knowledge, a love of travelling, a passion of history and a strong desire to live life. Although she enjoyed her job as a Registered Nurse (Toronto General Hospital Class of ’54), she chose to stay at home to raise her children and returned to school late in life to work in Psychiatric Nursing.
She treasured her family and took great pride in all their accomplishments and was happiest when surrounded by family or entertaining her many community friends (bridge, Knox, nursing and sorority sisters). She was especially fond of sitting at the “back dock” on “Stumpy Bay” with family and friends.
A celebration of Ruth’s life will be held at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Rd. W. (905-844-2600) on August 10, 2019 at 11:30, followed by a reception.
