Obituary for Maureen Case (nee Cheong)
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Maureen Case, surrounded by her family, at Extendicare on 7 July 2019, in her 88th year. Maureen passed away peacefully. Maureen is predeceased by her husband Ed (1995) and her son Kevin (2014). She will be greatly missed by her children Michael (Trish), Patrick, Kelly (Lee), Tim (Jennifer) Knowles, Kathleen (James) Hutcheson, Margaret, Robert (Sandy), Jim (Yvonne) and Steve (Deanna). She is survived by her dear sisters Pat, Sheila and Irene, and many nieces and nephews at home and abroad. Maureen is predeceased by her siblings Biddy, Dorothy, Frances, Jimmy and Vic. Maureen was an avid hiker, horticulturalist and competitive scrabble player. Maureen was a proud grandmother to Shane, Bradley, Kira, Cassidy, Ryla, Laurel, Patrick, Allison, Jessica, Pauline, Chris, Tia, Catlin, Patrick, Tomasina, Calaghan, Timikay, William, Cassandra, Matthew, Kyle, Jamie, Kenzo, Lindsay, Lee, Felicia, Claire, Declan, Maeve and Sarah and their partners, and loving great grandmother to 18 great grandchildren. We will all miss her very much. The family wishes to thank Dr. Mehul Patel and the amazing staff at Extendicare for their compassionate care. Family and friends may call for a memorial visitation at Circle of Life Cremation and Burial Centre, 100 King St. E., Dundas, Ontario on Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. (additional parking at the Air Force Club). A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church 416 Mohawk Road East in Hamilton on Friday, July 12, 2019 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow in the church hall. Cremation has taken place as per her wishes. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society of Ontario or the Bruce Trail Conservancy.
