Fischer, Matthew Kurt “Matt” “Fisch” – We are devastated to announce the passing of Matt, 37, in Edmonton, Alberta on July 22nd, 2019. He was born January 9th, 1982 in Calgary, Alberta. Matt will be remembered as a loyal, compassionate son, brother and friend with personality plus and a beautiful smile who lived life to the fullest. He worked in the food and restaurant industry and security business. He enjoyed cooking, running, sports and adventurous challenges, ie: Death Races. He is survived by his parents, Lee (Swan) and Kurt Fischer, Oxford; siblings, Alana, Moncton; and Andrew, Truro. Godchildren, Ezra and Henry Edwards; aunts, Susan Swan (Bob Nagyobb); Peg (Dave) Proctor; Barb (Wes) Pringle and Chris Swan; uncle, Peter Swan (Shelley); cousins, Keegan, Greg, Mallory (Shawn), Amy (Roz), Rebecca, Courtney (Dave), Mitch (Amanda), Tyler, Madison (Jordan), Regan, Jen; and many friends and relatives in Nova Scotia and Alberta. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Barb (Kirk) and Carl Fischer, Leone (Trites) and Dave Swan; uncles, Doug Fischer and John Swan; aunt, Beth (Swan) Grams. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Friday, August 2 in MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, 5075 Main Street, Oxford (902-447-2930). There will be a gathering of friends and relatives in Edmonton later in the summer. Donations in his memory may be made be made to MS Society (Atlantic) or Heart & Stroke Foundation.
