Mary Rose MacAdam
1924-2019
MacAdam, Mary Rose, age 94, of Antigonish and formerly of
McArras Brook passed away on July 14, 2019, in the R.K. MacDonald
Nursing Home, Antigonish.
Born in McArras Brook, she was a daughter of the late John
Willie and Katie MacAdam.
Mary Rose was a woman of strong faith. For 53
years, she made the pilgrimage to Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupre.
She also recorded the Masses in the chapel at the R.K. MacDonald
Nursing Home to be televised for the residents there and handed out
the bulletins. Mary Rose worked in laundry at St.
Martha’s Regional Hospital for over 30 years and also
volunteered for many years with L’Arche and felt a part of
their community. Before moving into the R.K, Mary lived happily for
many years at the JJ Carroll House, where she had many friends.
She was always very appreciative of her family and
friends. She had a great sense of humour and enjoyed her
rides down Route 245.
She is survived by the children of Carroll and Ella McVicar
and Angus Dan and Catherine MacDonald.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm in
C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish.
Funeral Mass will be held Thursday in St. Margaret of Scotland Church,
Arisaig, at 11:00am with Fr. Colin MacKinnon presiding.
Burial in the parish cemetery.
