Marlene’s Obituary
McMenemy, Marlene Ola – July 5, 1932 – July 6, 2019, has gone to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus. Born in Caribou Gold Mines, Hfx Co. to the late Earle and Erma (Taylor) Redden. She was predeceased by husband, Ernest, Kingston, NS and a brother, Douglas, Greenwood BC. She is survived by a brother, William Redden, Middle Musquodoboit; and a sister, Susan Worthylake, Chilliwack, BC. She is also survived by daughters, Heather (Rick) Greene, Spa Springs, NS; Brenda Lewis, Greenwood, NS; Bonnie (Barry) Jesso, Halifax, NS; Nancy (Don) Allen, Lethbridge, AB; and son, Shawn (Monique), Upper Sackville, NS. She is also survived by grandchildren, Craig (Loretta) Burns, Shannon (Aaron) Anderson, Miranda (Colin) Toole, Tyler (Nichole) Burns, Troy (Jill) Hatfield, Trevor (Kristy) Hatfield, Jason (Courtney) Lewis, Jeremy (Melissa) Lewis, Richard (Katie) Greene and Gillian (Terrance) Lobe and numerous great grandchildren. She was a self-taught organist and cake decorator. Many people were blessed with her cakes over the years on their special occasions. She loved music, enjoyed singing, gardening, sewing and baking as a homemaker. While a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, she taught Sunday school, Jr church and AWANA. She had a kind and generous heart, always thinking of the needs of others. In later years she attended Weston Christian Fellowship Church, where a celebration of life service will be held on Saturday July 13th at 2 pm at 3611 Brooklyn St., Weston, NS. Pastor David Hanson will officiate. Interment was held on July 6th in North Kingston Cemetery. We would like to thank the wonderful staff at Grace Haven, Paradise, NS and Grand View Manor, Berwick, NS, for their kind and compassionate care which was extended to our mother during her stay. We would also like to thank Dr. Goodine and Dr. Goddard for their care of our mother. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or Canadian Cancer Society.
