JORDAN, Marion Elizabeth
– Age 69, Sunnyville, Guysborough Co., passed away on
Saturday, July 6, 2019, peacefully surrounded by her loved ones after
a courage battle with cancer, in the Guysborough Memorial Hospital.
Born in Guysborough, she was a daughter of the late Clayton and Mary
(Byard) Jordan.
Marion worked at Canso Seafood’s for over 20 years.
She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed social events and family get
togethers. She also enjoyed music and her favourite TV shows while
playing her tablet. She is survived by her companion of 43 years,
Mike; son, Lawrence (Arlene); daughter, Kimberly; grandchildren,
Demetria (Geff), Dieppe, NB; Chelcy, Montreal; Alex and Lawrence Jr.,
both of Dartmouth; sisters, Betty (Roy), Sarah, both of Sunnyville;
Sharon, Dartmouth; Muriel (Wally), Lawrencetown; Diane (Claude),
Dartmouth; brothers, Wally (Eunice), James, both of Sunnyville; Neil
(Sharon), Brampton, Ont; Paul (Ann), Mississauga, Ont; only uncle,
Howard Byard; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sister,
Ann; brothers, Norm, Bernie and Ronnie.
The family would like to give thanks to the healthcare
professionals of the Halifax Infirmary, Hematology Unit, ICU and GURU
of St. Martha’s, Guysborough Memorial Hospital and the
Palliative Care and homecare. Special thanks to her cousin Marion
Byard and Gail Borden.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday in Dennis
Haverstock Funeral Guysborough. Funeral service will be 2 p.m.
Wednesday from Wesley United Church, Guysborough with Rev. Heather
Manuel and Mr. Robert Borden officiating. Burial will follow in
Evergreen Cemetery, Guysborough. Memorial donations may be made to a
