MARIE EDNA MITCHELL (nee Wheeler) and Edward Joseph Mitchell (Son)
Marie said goodbye to her family in Kelowna, B.C. on February 19, 2019 in her 92nd year. She leaves to mourn her sons Robert (Tina), Wayne (Margaret) and Glen. She was a loving grandmother to Susan, Maria, Eddie, Bobby, Curtis, Stephen, Kassie, Kyle several Great grandchildren and fondly remembered by nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Marie is predeceased by her husband, Ralph and son Edward (Veronica), parents Joseph and Susan Wheeler of Summerside, sisters Mary Bourgeois (Harold) and Joan Gill (John), brother Edward Wheeler (Evelyn). Marie moved to Elliot Lake, ON when she retired from K-Mart and later to Vancouver then Kelowna B.C. with her son and family. Marie loved the Bay of Islands and made many trips home and travelled up until her 90th birthday. Kelowna reminded Marie of Newfoundland’s beautiful west coast especially in winter, her favorite time of year, when she knit for all of us who benefited from her caring, humble ways. The cremated remains of Marie and her precious son, Edward will rest at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road, Corner Brook, NL. Friends and family are welcome for visitation on Monday, Aug. 5, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow for both Marie and Ed at Mt. Patricia Cemetery at 1:00pm.
