McFarlane, Margo Ann Diane (Livingston)
Our Mom, Margo was born on June 9,1937 in St. John New Brunswick. She was the 4th of six children born to Mary Alice Shepard and John Franklin Livingston. Margo was the final surviving sibling of her family. Passed before her were: John (Jack)(Kay), Leona (Chuck), Don (Roberta), Gordon (Lilian) and Everett.
On June 11, 1955 our Mom, Margo married the love of her life, Henry (Peter) Leroy McFarlane of St. John New Brunswick. They became part of the larger Canadian Air Force family where they made many lifelong friends. They were first stationed at Greenwood Nova Scotia (where first daughter, Maryellen was born) This posting was followed by a move to Chatham, New Brunswick, (where son, Roderick was born), followed by a 4-year stint in Zweibrucken Germany. They returned to Canada in the spring of 1963 and were stationed at Greenwood Nova Scotia (where daughter, Tracey was born). They remained in the Greenwood/Meadowvale area until moving to Calgary Alberta in 1983.
Mom spent most of her working career with the CIBC, first as a teller in Greenwood NS and then as both a teller and back office staff in Calgary. After retiring, Mom and Dad spent several happy years with their motorhome. They covered many miles, meeting and enjoying the company of fellow RV’ers along the way. They eventually decided to retire from the road and settled upon Rainbow Spa in California where they spent many happy winters. Mom continued to return to Rainbow Spa up to and including this past winter. She was surrounded there by wonderfully supportive family and friends
Mom will certainly be missed by her family. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Maryellen (Darcy), Rod (Shelley), and Tracey (Jim). She will be so very missed by her grandchildren and one special greatgrandchild: Andrew (Kathy & Brooklyn), Dan, Nick (Kristen), Renée, Mathew, Tavia (Ken), and Kiercy. She will also be missed by Dawn Parker who became her “adopted daughter” many years ago.
The family wishes to extend thanks to the Chinook Care Centre Hospice whose wonderful care, concern and love for our Mom was most evident.
There will be a private interment in September. We thank all of those who have taken the time to express their condolences at this time. We would encourage you to donate in memory of Mom to one of the following:
