Karen Dawn Royal 2019

Karen Royal (nee Langlois), 64, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on July 24, 2019, at Health Sciences North in Sudbury after a long battle against several health challenges. Despite so many setbacks, Karen carried on with grace, dignity and a smile till the end. She was predeceased by her parents Sheila and Paul Langlois, her brother Gerry Langlois and her brother-in-law Bill Russell. Karen leaves her husband Chris Royal and her daughters Carolyn Nesling and Nadine Nesling and her husband Jorge Velis and granddaughter Samantha. Karen leaves her sisters Christine Langlois (Chris Coombs) and Trudi Russell and brothers John Langlois (Lesley Langlois) and Jamie Langlois (Nil Chinoy) and sister-in-law Deb Langlois. She leaves many nieces and nephews to whom she was always sweet and funny Aunt Karen.
Karen was born and raised in Kirkland Lake and returned to live in Kenogami when she and Chris married in 1995. Over her working life, Karen was a daycare operator, a building superintendent and a nursing home caregiver. But the positions she valued most were as mother to the two daughters of whom she was so proud and loving wife to Chris. She will be deeply missed by her large extended family of Langlois’s and Royal’s and her many friends.
Karen’s family would like to thank the staff at the Kirkland Lake and District Hospital and the many health professionals who cared for her.
