Passed away peacefully at Hospice Peterborough on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 in his 94th year. Beloved husband of the late Estelle (nee Collins) d. January 30, 2009. Loving father of Gregory (Irene) Shaughnessy, Kathryn (Frank) Drumm, Justine Shaughnessy (John McNamara), Ann (David) Bowen, Julie Byers, Sally (Sister Sarah), and Patti (Leo) Fitzgerald. Dear grandfather of Kylie, Sarah and Grace Shaughnessy, Brennan (Christine) Drumm, Kelly (Steve) Kloosterman, Ryan Drumm, Shaughn (Chuck) Craig, Timothy English, Erin (Daryl) Hancock, Matt (Lindsay) Bowen, Kathleen (Mark) Douglas, Tara (Matthew) Powell, Kathryn Byers, Molly and Luke Fitzgerald. Great grandfather of Ava, Bria, Leo, Levi, Max, Jameson, Olivia, Elizabeth, Reganne, Delaney, Michael, Isabella, McKenna, Ben, Aislynnn, Sam, Addelyn and Henry. Dear brother of Thomas (Marie), and Terry (Margaret) and brother-in-law of Rita, Marjorie and Darlene Shaughnessy and John Muldowney. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, exteded family and friends. Predeceased by his parents James Shaughnessy and Loretta Fitzgerald, sister Helen Muldowney, brothers Reginald (Mary), William (Mary), Patrick (Verna), John, James (Alberta), Harry, Paul and Clare Shaughnessy, brother-in-laws Jim, Tom, Bud, John and Theo Collins, and sister-in-law Eileen Chesson, Betty Burgess, Joan Walsh, Mary Collins, Kathleen Allen and Patricia Haig. Our deepest appreciation to St. Elizabeth Health Care, and Justin’s special caregiver Stella Griffin.
There will be no visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass to Celebrate Justin’s life at ST. ANNE’S CHURCH on Monday, July 22, 2019 at 1 p.m. Interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery. In memory of Justin, donations to Hospice Peterborough or Hospital for Sick Kid’s Foundation would be appreciated and can be made through DUFFUS FUNERAL HOME with whom the arrangements have been entrusted.
