Fitzgerald, Gwendolyn Darlene, -63, of Arcadia passed away on Saturday July 13,2019, at QE2 in Halifax. She was the daughter of the late Victor and Marjorie (Langthorne) Roberts. For 20 years Gwen dedicated her life caring for others, working as a nurse at Tidal View Manor in Yarmouth. Her friends and family would describe her as a very strong woman, a caring and giving person with a very positive out look on life. She will be dearly missed by her husband of 29 years Norman Fitzgerald; Daughter Vanessa (Chad Hersey) Surette, Overton; Sisters Carole (Laryn) Murphy, Pubnico and Lillian (Robert) McCarthy, Deerfield; grandchildren Dylan Surette and Desiré Sauve, who always had a special place in their grandmothers’ heart. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Yarmouth. Visitation will be held on Thursday July 18 from 7-9 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Friday July 19 at 2pm from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. A.D Bill Newell officiating. Interment to take place in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
