Mr. Gilbert Smith of West Bolton peacefully passed away at the Excel Soins Knowlton on July 19th 2019 at 95 years. Gilbert grew up in Outremont. He married Margareth Simon in 1955 until her passing in 2006. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy in WWII and served on the HMCS Frontenac from 1943-1945. After the war, he completed a degree in journalism and became a successful sports journalist and author.
He will be greatly missed by all whom touched his heart. Upon his request, no funeral will take place.
Sharon Wing Girvan would like to thank all the caring staff who gave great care and compassionate service to Gilbert. Your care for him did not go unnoticed. We also would like to thank Jean Mc Cloud for also being in his life.
