HAMBLEY – George Herbert
1948 – 2019
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of George Hambley on Saturday July 13, at the North Bay Regional Health Center at the age of 70.
Family came first with George and what a wonderful gift George was in his family. He loved his family unconditionally. He is survived by his best friend, wife and soul mate Nikki. They would have celebrated 48 years of marriage on August 19. He will also be lovingly remembered by his daughters Jennifer (Sheldon) Leach of Corbeil and Tara (Garry) Bettis of Es, England. George was predeceased by his father Dr. Bob Hambley and by his mother Isabel (nee Carr). He will be missed by his brothers David (Sue) of Collingwood and Bob of Toronto by his nephew Rob of Collingwood, and his many cousins from the Hambley, Wallace, and Carr families with which he enjoyed a close bond. George was a life-long employee of the Ministry of Transportation retiring as the Maintenance Co ordinator for the North Bay area. He loved to read and always said that reading the written word was “push ups for the mind”. George had a love of life, his family and of Trout Lake where he has resided since 1985. In keeping with his wishes his body has been cremated. His family invite friends to join with them at Martyn Funeral Home on Saturday afternoon July 20, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. to reminisce and share their stories of George.
