Fay Rosella Johnstone West Thursday July 25th 2019

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our last beloved parent, Mrs. Fay Rosella Johnstone, with family by her side, at Extendicare Michener Hill, Red Deer on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at the age of 91 years. Fay was born on April 2, 1928 to Alma and William West in Heisler, Alberta. She was raised in the rural area around Heisler and Rosalind, with her family farming in the area. Fay never lost her love of the outdoors, enjoying numerous camping, fishing, and hiking adventures. In 1947, she met and married the love of her life, Frederick ‘Gerald’ Johnstone. The couple had a large family, and the love for her family was strong. Nothing delighted her more than family gatherings and seeing her grandchildren. Fay enjoyed her many years of working at the Michener Centre laundry, establishing many strong working bonds with those she worked with. She is survived by her sons: Bruce (Rhonda), Ken (Sherryl), her daughters: Isabel (Cheryl), Pearl (Bill) Brady, Sylvia (Hank) Kozak, Doreen (Don) Zaborsky, and Carol (Murray) Peterson. Fay was predeceased by her husband, Frederick Gerald and a son, Wilfred. She was loved so and will be missed by so many. Following Fay’s wishes, no Service will be held. A Celebration of Life Social Tea will be held at a later date. Condolences may be sent or viewed at www.parklandfuneralhome.com. Arrangements in care of Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer. 403.340.4040 or 1.800.481.7421.
