Edna Florence Donohue
January 15, 1920 – July 05, 2019

Edna Florence Donohue died peacefully at her home at Princess Court, Dryden, Ontario on July 5th, 2019, with her family at her side.
Edna was born on January 15, 1920 to Edith and Frank Windsor in Croydon, Surrey, England, a city just to the south of London, England. She is predeceased by her parents Edith and Frank, her older brother Frank, and her younger siblings Dennis, Peter, John and Marlene. She is survived by her youngest siblings, Robert and Christine, as well as, numerous nieces and nephews who reside in England.
Edna was married on January 3rd, 1942 to John Matthew Donohue, a handsome Canadian soldier stationed in Croydon. In 1945, just prior to the end of the Second World War, Edna and her fifteen month old daughter, Mary, boarded a military ship designated to the transport of War Brides to Canada. She entered Canada at Pier 21 in Halifax, making her way by train from there to her new family in Toronto. After a few years, Jack joined the Ontario Provincial Police. Following several postings in southern Ontario, Jack, Edna and their family moved to Dryden, Ontario. A few years after this move, her beloved husband Jack was suddenly taken from her. Taking responsibility for the welfare of her family, Edna continued to live in Dryden until the present, with the exception of a few years spent living in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
Edna is predeceased by her husband Jack and her daughter Mary Donohue Adams. Edna is survived by her children Patricia (Robert) MacKenzie, Sean (Helen) Donohue, Mark (Brenda) Donohue and Christine Donohue. She is grandmother to Matthew (Janelle) Donohue, Kaela (Kent) Breitsprecher, Shayle Donohue and Mollie (Gary Leroux) Donohue. Edna is great-grandmother to Jack, Knox, Luke, Kash and Brenden.
Edna loved her family without reservation and devoted her life to their happiness. In return, she is and will always be loved with all our hearts. Edna will be deeply missed by all those who have been touched by her humour and good nature, her boundless love for others, her generosity and her endless selflessness.
A Memorial Funeral Service will be held in August.
