E. Fern Armstrong
1926-2019
It is with great sadness that the family of Enid
“Fern” Armstrong announces her passing on Thursday July
25th, 2019 at the Dr. V.A. Snow Centre. She was
married to the late Donald Armstrong. Born on July 30, 1926 in Norton,
NB, she was the daughter of the late Talmage and Lily (Tait)
Vail.
Fern worked as a school teacher for a short time before she
married. Fern loved quilting, playing cards, singing, reading and
spending time with her family and friends.
Fern is survived by her daughters; Judy Bastarache (Sherman)
and Nancy Extell (Allen), sister; Gerna McCullum, brother; Talmage
Vail (Joanne), five grandchildren; Ryan Armstrong(Suzanne), Angela
Extell, Josh Extell, Andrew Bastarache and Jill Tobin (Ryan),
great-grandchildren: Sara Armstrong, Jana Armstrong, Autumn Tobin and
Brooke Tobin, daughter-in-law Lynn Armstrong as well as all her
nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her husband, Fern was predeceased by her son; Robert
“Bob” Armstrong, daughter; Bev Armstrong and siblings; Viola
Maxey, May Muir, Ina Russell, Murray Vail and Gertrude
O’Neill.
Fern’s family would like to express their heartfelt
thanks and appreciation to the entire staff of the Dr. V. A. Snow
Centre for their exceptional care and friendship and to all the
homecare givers that looked after her over the years.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Sherwood’s
Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road,
Norton, NB where visitation will be held on Sunday July 28, 2019 from
2-4 pm. Funeral service will be held Monday July 29, 2019 at 11:00 am
from Sherwood’s Funeral Chapel. Interment will take place at
Riverbank Cemetery.
Donations to Diabetes Canada, Dr. V.A. Snow Center or to a
charity of the donors’ choice would be appreciated. Memorial
