It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Alan Kingsley Freeman, aged 62, of Falkland, BC on Monday July 15th, 2019 from a tragic accident.
Alan will be forever missed by his wife, Diane, his three sons Ryan (Katie), Derek (Mykaela) and Greg (Marcia) as well as his beloved granddaughter, Torilou, his lil red headed girl, Sherie, his sister Donna (Jerry), nephews, Barry, Andy and Warren and niece, Marla and his mother and father in law, Clifford and Ursula Ronneseth.
Born June 23rd, 1957 in Duncan, BC Alan spent his first 34 years on Vancouver Island, BC where in 1989 he met the love of his life Diane. They married in 1990 and in 1991 found a little piece of heaven in Falkland, BC where they settled down and raised their family.
Alan spent most of his life running heavy equipment. From subdivision infrastructure to building/deactivating logging roads, groundwork at Sparkling Hills, twinning the TransCanada Hwy between BC and AB, building/rebuilding streams and ponds, and building numerous parks on Vancouver Island. Alan had a natural ability to mold earth and rock into something beautiful.
Alan’s passions were his classic CHEVROLET cars, his Toronto Maple Leafs and playing his guitars.
Alan loved to laugh and joke and will be remembered for his sense of humor, kindness, loyalty, integrity and work ethic. But most of all his love for his family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Oddfellows Hall in Armstrong, BC on September 2nd, 2019 at 11am with a buffet lunch to follow. There will be a Rod Run at 2pm as Alan’s last drive in his beloved 57 Chevy Belair.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Falkland Sunday Morners- A Non-Profit Organization that helps our communities when assistance is needed. A cash/cheque box will be on the table at the Celebration of Life.
