John “Jack” N. Blake

BLAKE, John (Jack) N. – Age 80, of Lower Concession, passed away Friday, October 19, 2018 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Jack was born in Montreal, the son of the late Walter and Ida Blake. He was born on January 1, 1938; 1st New Year Baby for Canada. He is survived by his wife, Trudy, and stepsons, John and Alan, both of British Columbia; niece, Colleen Blake, Ontario. Jack worked in open pit mines in the Yukon and Northwest Territories for 15 years before his retirement. Prior to heading North, Jack worked for car dealerships in Vancouver, Montreal and St. John, New Brunswick. Jack served over 7 years in the Canadian Forces and was a dedicated volunteer firefighter for 28 years throughout Canada. Cremation has taken place and funeral services will be held Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Concession, Rev. Yvon Dionne officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Clare Special Olympics Fund.
