Douglas “Doug” Lloyd MacDonald
1945-2019
MacDonald, Douglas Lloyd – 73, of Crowes Mills,
passed away Thursday, June 27, 2019 at home, after a courageous battle
with cancer. Born October 9, 1945 in Lundy, Guysborough
County, NS, he was a son of the late John Avery and Clara
MacDonald.
Doug owned and operated Doug MacDonald & Sons Auto
Sales for over 45 years.
Doug is survived by his wife of 45 years, Helen McPherson;
daughter, Darlene; sons, Douglas Wayne; John; Scott; Douglas Charles;
and Michael; step-brothers, Roy and Von MacDonald; step-sister,
Bernice MacDonald. He will be sadly missed by his family and all that
knew him.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall-Varner Funeral
Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. At Doug’s request
there will be no visitation or funeral. A private family service will
be held at a later date. If so desired, donations may be made to the
Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice. Private messages of
