It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother. Melania passed away suddenly but peacefully on May 27 at a mature age of 101 yrs old. Until the last moments she was completely lucid and waiting to have lunch. Melania is predeceased by her loving husband Stefan Momot, son Victor Snisarenko (Tamara) and daughter Alice Brongel (Dave). She leaves to mourn her daughters Valya Kowryha (Gregory) and Jeannie Bazawluk (Walter). She was a loving and caring grandmother to Tanya, Philip and Adrian Kowryha, Larissa and Oksana Bazawluk, Taras and Natalie Brongel, Bill and John Snisarenko, as well as their spouses. She will be dearly missed by her 12 precious great grandchildren.
Melania will always be remembered for her dedication to her family and church. She sang in church and community choirs all her life, where she was known for her beautiful alto voice and her enthusiasm for singing.
Visitation at Alfred Dallaire Memoria, 3254 Bellechasse, in Rosemont on Thurs. May 30 from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Panachyda at 7 p.m. Funeral Service on Friday May 31 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Protectress Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 2246 Rosemont Blvd. Followed by Burial at Mount Royal Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Mary’s Protectress Church would be appreciated. Vitchnaya Pamyiat Mama and Babycia. May you Rest in Peace – so well deserved.
