Matthew Pentecost 2019 avis de deces

Matthew Michael Pentecost
Long Island
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our pride and joy, Matthew, at the IWK Children’s Hospital, on Thursday, May 23, 2019, after his long battle with Cystic Fibrosis.
He was our light and our biggest inspiration. Matthew never let his illness prevent him from doing the things he loved; his favourite pastime hanging with the boys, skateboarding, playing his numerous instruments, and getting lost in video games.
Matthew attended Memorial High School, where he was a grade 9 honour student. When Matthew wasn’t able to attend, his teachers would express to him that the class was not the same without him, and now we all know he will be there in spirit with them every day.
Matthew loved spending time with his Dad. Matthew may have been our light, but Calleigh, his baby sister, was his.
Matthew and his Mom were the dynamic duo. They did everything together. Mom was the one who made him realize that everything would be alright, and Matthew was the one who made Mom realize the value of time, and her children taught her to treasure every minute of it. The bond was nothing short of inspiring.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories his parents, Mom Tracy (John), baby sister Calleigh, Dad Buddy (Tanya), Sara and Avery; grandmothers Marie Bonar and Shirley Pentecost, and Honourary Nanny Arlene Simpson. Also left to mourn are uncles Leo (Rose), and Danny (Denise), aunts Kim Marks and Shauna (Sean) Moore, cousins Leo, Grant, Logan, Brayden, Owen, Tysen and Kacey. Matthew also shared a special bond with his cousin Brooklyn and Uncle Keith, whom he idolized, and several great aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Our boy Matthew is now at rest with his big sister Carrington, whom he missed dearly, poppies Carl Bonar and Arthur Pentecost, aunt Callie Bonar, uncles Louie Simpson, and Billy Marks, and cousin Jimmie Bonar.
We would like to thank Dr. Hughes, Dr. Mateos, Dr. Lynk, Dr. Kerr-Liddell, the entire CF team, Paula, Sheri, Michelle, Brea, Kim and Lisa. To all the staff at the IWK on 7 PMU, who always went above and beyond for our boy, treating him extra special, and being our extended family.
Visitation for Matthew Pentecost will be held today (Monday), May 27, 2019, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm, in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. A celebration of his life will take place Tuesday, at 10:30 am in St. Joseph Church, Bras d’Or, with Fr. Peter McLeod officiating. The burial will be in the parish cemetery. A reception will be held in the Bras d’Or Hall, after the burial.
In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count,
It’s the life in your years. Words of comfort may be forwarded to his family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Matthew Pentecost 2019..
